Alone you stand in intense moments,
In ethical quandaries, in life battles,
In salvation initiation, in demise phase,
Learn to savour solitude - Mankutimma.

Translator's note: The choice of words by the poet is amazing. Every word used is profound and adds many dimensions to the quatrains.
Though 'nirmitraniralu kali', means 'learn to be friendless', I have chosen to translate it as  'learn to savour solitude' because the poet, I felt, is talking of the significance of solitude, which gets more emphasis in the above interpretation. As always, open to debate.

  1. Alone you remain during the most intense moments
And, in situations of utter confusion and all battles of life,
And, while contemplating upon the Highest and even while dying,
Learn to manage without anybody’s help – MT.

PS: elsewhere (i.e. 549) i've explained how i try to translate....
